Grace = God’s Righteousness At Christ’s Expense.
Grace is unearned, undeserved and unmerited favor from God
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
-----Ephesians 3-----
-----Ephesians 4-----
Unity in The Body of Christ
1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called,
2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body and one Spirit -just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call-
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. [ESV]
Learn Christ
20 But that is not the way you learned Christ! [ESV]
I got to thinking about that passage, this verse in particular for the last 4 days......What does it mean to "learn Christ" ?
I think that the first step is to know what he did for you and to accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. The next step should be our desire to "Learn" [build intimate relationship with Him].
Heard this verse on my way to work while listening to audio Bible (NLT) and thought how it can be applied to us, so that we may "learn Christ".
<< Context: David instructing his son Solomon with building the Temple >>
1 Chronicles 28:9 “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. (NLT)
1 Chronicles 28:9 “And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. (ESV)
