-----Jude 1-----
I'm under grace, so can I Do what I want?
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV)
3 Dear
friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the
salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something
else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for
all time to his holy people. 4 I
say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your
churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral
lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they
have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (NLT)
Beware of False Teachers !
1 > Delivered by God (Israelites)
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
The Israelites were saved out of Egypt but because of their lack of faith in God, they never made it to the Promise Land. (Except Joshua and Caleb) Found in Numbers 14
2 > Worshipers of God (Lucifer and 1/3 of the angels)
6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Luke 10:18; Isaiah 14:12-22; Ezekiel 28:11-19; Gen 6:2
3 > Blessed by God (plain of Jordan, watered Land) Genesis 13:12
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Genesis 13
JUDE v.9
Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.
The “Lord rebuke you satan”, “Not I rebuke you”. This should be a reminder to all of us that God is in control.
Jude v.11
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
way of Cain >> Anger - Genesis 4
error of Balaam >> Greed - Numbers 22
gainsaying* of Core >> Envy - Numbers 16
*gainsaying def: deny or contradict (a fact or statement)
