Grace and Peace

"Grace and peace....."

how many times have you seen those two words used together in the New Testament?

Grace(Charis/GREEK...cariß) a greeting used amongst the Greeks.

Peace(Shalom/ Hebrew...שָׁלוֹם ) Greeting used by Hebrews(Jews).

Old Testament written in Hebrew.
New Testament written in Greek.

Two words brought together through a greeting by reach out to different worlds with the same message.

There is a lot to learn from those three steps if we apply them in our lives.

1. Church in Ephesus  (Darling/Love)
 "left thy first love" v.4

Personal Application:  Don't Neglected Priorities. 

To All Churches: Devotion, not just doctrine.

Overcomers Promise: Eat of Tree of Life.

    ● Parable of the sower — Matthew 13:3-23.  Mark 4:3-8, 14-20.  Luke 8:5-15.
    ● Paul's epistle to the Ephesians.

2. Church in Smyrna   (Myrrh)
"thou shalt suffer" v.10

 Personal Application:  Satanic Opposition.

 To All Churches: Endure persecution.

Overcomers Promise: Not hurt of second death.

    ● Parable of the wheat and the tares — Matt 13:24-30, 36-43.
    ● Paul's epistle to the Philippians (joy through suffering).


Martyr in Greek means "witness" Giving up your life for Him.


3. Church in Pergamos  (Objectionable Marriage)

"because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication." v. 14

 Personal Application: Avoid Spiritual Compromise.

 To All Churches: Purify ambassadorship.

Overcomers Promise: Manna, Stone, Name.

    ● Parable of the mustard seed — Matthew 13:31-32, Mark 4:30-32, Luke 13:19.
    ● Paul's epistles to the Corinthians (married to the world).

I know held my name - Stood up for my name v13?

Antipas (Name means: Anti=against, pas=everything) – Was a dentist and a physician. Against the whole world if the whole world is against the Lord. Historically it is said that he was burned in the brass bowl.

Would not burn incense to Cesar

Numbers 24:2 Balaam> Saw the tents, an image of the Cross(Numbers chapter 2 tents organized into the shape of a cross).

Messianic prophecy = A Start is coming

v.15 Nicolaitans > Niko (to conquer), Laos (people) spiritual clergy set up to rule.

Nikos-laos = victorious over the people

I will fight against them(who?) the ones in that church that were giving into mixture.

Balaam > propagator of mixture.

White stone you are innocent, black stone you are guilty. A panel of judges would cast their stone(white or black) which will be the “jury” for the verdict.

4. Church in Thyatira  (Ruled by Women/goddess)

"because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols" v. 20

 Personal Application: Avoid Pagan Practices.

 To All Churches: Avoid Pagan practices.

Overcomers Promise: Power over nations.

   ● Parable of the leaven — Matthew 13:33,  Luke 13:21-30.
   ● Paul's epistle to the Galatians (call out of religious externalism) See Galatians 5:9.

Thyatira = Continual sacrifice > Roman Catholic Church….The Mass

Salvation through eating of Jesus Body in The mass.

Mass used to seduce to things sacrificed to idles

The church may have been started by a women. (Lydia from Thyatira).

Philippian Jailer may have been in Paul’s vision

Hang on till I come v.25 one of the last 4 churches will be here till Jesus returns.

He that hath a ear let him hear what the spirit saith unto the Church ….13:9 Church is not in this verse because it is in heaven.

 Personal Application: Loyal Ambassadorship.

 To All Churches: Missionary outreach.

Overcomers Promise: Pillar in Temple, name of God, name of His city,
new name.

    ● Parable of the pearl of great price — Matthew 13:45.
    ● Paul's epistles to the Thessalonians (second coming not imminent).

It is not when you struggle with sin, vulnerable to sin, overcome by sin. It is when you Practice sin, and are committed to sin.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God..

commit poieo[Greek] = To make, create, to celebrate, keep.

When you commit (practice to get better at it) yourself to Sin you are trying to become a “poet” “author” over your life. If that is your heart, you are not a part of the kingdom. Seems to indicate that if a person commits themselves to sin and they want to get better and better at it, they are getting off The Ship.

Act 27:21

The bible seems to indicate that if you commit yourself to sin.

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

John 10:27-29

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 – Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Luke 5:37- Things Old and Things New. Wine is a “type” of the Spirit in the Bible. Wine is living. The old structure(Old wineskins) can’t handle it. New [neos=brand new]wine must be put into New[kinos=renewed] Soaking a old wineskin into water it regains its elasticity, and can be reused(renewed). The water is the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

 THE RAPTURE OF THE CHURCH

 The Crowns

1. Crown of Righteousness - 2 Timothy 4:7-8

-         Given to all those that love His appearing.  1 John 3:3 * 1 Tess 4 Comfort one another

-         They will live righteously, because they are focused on His return. 

2. Crown of Life - James 1:12

-         Given to those who enduring temptation, love the LORD,

-         And turn their back on sin.

Temptation/Trial same word in the GREEK [it is a trial from God/a temptation from satan]

What satan uses as a temptation, God allows as a trial.

When God sends a trial my way, satan will jump on it to try to make it into a temptation for me.

3. Crown of Glory – 1 Peter 5:4

Glory[Doxa(Greek), Kavod (Hebrew), means Heavy, substantial

   -    Faithful in service/ministry

-    What ever God has called you to do, do it faithfully

in Old testament time those that served(Levites) the LORD were closest to the LORD. The camp was set up that way.

4. Crown of Rejoicing (soul winner’s crown) - 1 Thessalonians 2:19

-         For those who win Souls for Him Prayed   Had a hand in helping a soul to Christ.

5. Crown of Life - Revelations 2:10

-         Those that are faithful to Him to the point of death

martyr in Greek, means “witness” Giving up your life for Him.

Witness of His Grace, His Love, His faithfulness.

1 Corinthians 3:10-14

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
¹² Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
¹³ Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
¹⁴ If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

Wack-a-mole  Life is whacking one problem and then another pops up.

It isn’t heaven till heaven.

Those who try to make this earth Heaven will ultimately be depressed, disappointed, and disillusioned.

Colossians 3:2     Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 Corinthians 3:12-13
¹² Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
¹³ Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is..
Wood > a type of the Flesh  [my attitude, my will, my desires]
Hay & Stubble (chaff) > That which is not heavy, weighty, not Real.

1 Corinthians 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Luke 19:12 – Parable of the Pounds (A pound was about 3 months average wage)

-We all have equal amount (24 hrs in a day). We all have the same opportunity.

Matthew 25:14- Parable of the talents (between 60 to 80 pounds of silver)

-         We all are given different amounts. We all have different abilities (talents).

Only held accountable for the gifts you were given. If they be 1, 5, or 10.

Romans 14:10

But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Love expresses itself in doing.

The redeemed sang a new song

The redeemed sang a new song. The rapture is before the tribulation.
Revelations 5:9  And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
JESUS is the AMEN  (In the Gospels Jesus often said “Verly, Verly” in KJV )
Revelations 3:18  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
[Example of the Old Testament promise] Deuteronomy 11: 22 – 28
Deuteronomy 11:22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
“If you do this, I will do that”
The “if” promises, Jesus has made it! We are in Christ so the “if” has been fulfilled. [Grace]
Jesus did the “if’s” so if we are in Him we get the “then’s”
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

The 7 Seals, and The 4 Horsemen   

 ¹And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

1. The Antichrist

 ² And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

         crown  = "stephanos" A Garland, A Wreath (short lived glory ) used in Greek Olympics

 ³ And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

2. War 

⁴ And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

3. Famine

 ⁵ And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

⁶ And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. (oil and wine = the rich)


⁷ And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

^{4. Death (and Hell/Hades following close behind him)} 

⁸ And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

⁹ And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
¹¹ And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
¹² And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
¹³ And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
¹⁴ And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

¹⁶ And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
 ¹⁷ For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

 ^{1 Thessalonians 5:9} For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,



NOTE:   The seventh seal is not opened until Revelation 8:1
And when he[Jesus Christ] had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

 

Last sighed treaty (signed off by both the Jews and Arabs) was in 1922 the “League of Nations Treaty”.

800 Times Jerusalem [Name] is mentioned in the Bible.

Not mentioned even once in the Koran

-----Revelation 7-----

  144,000 Sealed

v.1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

"winds" = Represent Judgment

 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed 144,000 of 

all the tribes of the children of Israel. I don't know why some denomination cannot understand this, If you are not a Jew, a virgin, one who does not lie, and faultless before the Throne(Rev 14:4-5). you don't even qualify to be considered. Besides, the church will not be here on earth during this time.

Interesting note to study deeper:
tribe of Dan is omitted, some people believe that the anti-Christ may come from the tribe of Dan - Gen 49:17

Ephraim, the son of Joseph, the second born, is also missing 

Ezekiel 9:4-6 also describes putting a mark on the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

Is there night in Heaven?

**I've always heard that there would be no night in heaven. Yet when you look at Rev 7:15 it says ” they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple” ???**

 Day in Night in Heaven. Here is the conclusion that I've come to. There is no Night in The New Jerusalem (Rev 21:23). Now on the new earth and in heaven there is night (Rev 7:15). And if you think about it Genesis 1:4- God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day. And then later He says and it was Good (before sin). Also I've seen some night skies away from cities that make you just stop and focus on His greatness. So, I do not see why He would not have Night on earth.

  v.1 And when he[Jesus Christ] had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

 

The 7 Trumpets

⁶ And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
⁷ The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
⁸ And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
⁹ And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
¹⁰ And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
¹¹ And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
¹² And the frth angel soundeoud, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
¹³ And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

  ¹ And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

¹³ And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

Seventh Trumpet is blown in Revelation 11:15

 ^{Revelation 11:15} And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

  Seven Thunders [Top Secret]

v.4
And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

There is a blessing in not knowing.

Why would God not let us know?

• To keep us humble
• To keep us useful 
• To keep us stable 

Deuteronomy 29:29 
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.

John 13:7 
Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

We may not know now, but we will understand one day.

The 2 Witnesses (teleported)? 

 

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

 "appointed unto men once to die", is the general rule, but there have been exceptions such as: Lazarus, Jairus’ daughter, Nain’s son, etc.  that died and were brought back to life to die again later.

Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.[Genesis 5:24] .
Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind [2 Kings 2:11] 

Sounds like they did not die? Time travel? God may be placing them in Revelation 11. The 2 witnesses in that the beast will kill. Just a thought....I know some commentaries say Moses and Elijah, ....just a thought.


Some notes to consider:

• Enoch was not Jewish.Witnesses are Jewish.(Judaism started with the call of Abraham -Genesis 12:1-3)
• Moses symbolic of the Law
• Elijah symbolic of the Prophets
• At the Mount of Transfiguration (Moses and Elijah) - Matthew 17:3

Elijah: Fire from heaven: 1 Kings 18:37; 2 Kings 1:10, 12; Jeremiah 5:14;
          Shut heaven; 1 Kings 17:1; (3 1/2 years!) Luke 4:25; James 5:17.

Moses: Water into blood: Exodus 7:19;
              Plagues; Exodus 8-12.

The Woman (Nation of Israel) and the Dragon (Satan)

The Man child mentioned that the woman was giving birth to is Jesus Christ The Messiah.

  The Seven Bowls

 

First Bowl

When the first bowl is poured out, foul and painful sores come upon those bearing the mark of the beast and those who worshiped the image of the beast.

Second Bowl

When the second bowl is poured out, the seas and the oceans become blood as of a dead man, forcing everything in the sea to die

Third Bowl

When the third bowl is poured out, the rivers and the remaining sources of water turn to blood. The angels then begin praising God's holy judgements.

Fourth Bowl

When the fourth bowl is poured out, the sun causes a major heatwave to scorch the planet with fire. The incorrigible wicked refuse to repent while they blaspheme the name of God.

Fifth Bowl

When the fifth bowl is poured out, a thick darkness overwhelms the kingdom of the beast. The wicked continue to stubbornly defame the name of God while refusing to repent and glorify God.

Sixth Bowl

When the sixth bowl is poured out, the great river Euphrates dries up so that the kings of the east might cross to be prepared to battle. Three unclean spirits with the appearance of frogs come out of the mouths of the beast and the false prophet. These demonic like spirits work Satanic miracles to gather the nations of the world to battle against the forces of good during the Battle of Armageddon. Jesus warns those still alive during the Tribulation that his coming will come like a thief in the night, urging his followers to stay alert.

Seventh Bowl

When the seventh bowl is poured out, a global earthquake causes the cities of the world to collapse. Every mountain and island are removed from their foundations. Giant hailstones weighing nearly 100 pounds plummet onto the planet. The plagues were so severe that the wicked's hatred against God intensifies while the incorrigible continue to curse God.

The River Of Life

 Went through the [Audio] Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)  in 60 Days, from March 16th 2013 to May 15th 2013. I got to finish listening to the last 2 Chapters on the Beach in South Carolina at night around 11:30pm.with the waves crashing on the shore, The words “Look! I am coming quickly” honestly brought tears of joy to my eyes.
